About
Jigjiga university veterinary students’ association is a nonprofit, nonpolitical and nonreligious association which is established by interested veterinary students of JJU and lead by themselves. It functions in cooperation with JJU college of veterinary medicine, local animal health centers, EVA (Ethiopian veterinary association), Respective professionals, and other cooperative members.
JJU veterinary students’ association is a profession based association primarily aimed to promote, advocate and keep the quality of education in the interest of veterinary students in academic and other professional areas including governmental and nongovernmental institutions.
It also supports students gathered under the umbrella of institute of veterinary medicine in social, academic and professional associations.
OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION.
The main objective of this association is: -
1. To help veterinary students broaden their professional horizons and helping them deliver their professional responsibility by participating in the community.
2. Bridge for students for national level via their profession.
3. Provide strong voice for veterinary students on issues that concern the students and the profession.
4. Promote the exchange of ideas and flow of information among students by inviting renowned and distinguished guests and experts in different areas of the profession.
5. Promoting the unification of veterinary students and their instruction with other professionals both socially and professionally to create favorable academic and social environment.
6. Casting the image of the profession in the society at large so as to maintain and upgrade the regard of veterinary professionals.
7. Educating veterinary students and the community about the way of zoonotic disease prevention and control.
8. Implanting the culture of professional responsibility and innovational ability among veterinary students.
9. Developing keen sense of ENTHUSIASM, eagerness and commitment among veterinary students, since students are an integrant part of health care team.
10. Disseminating up-to-date information and innovation in academics and veterinary institutes.
11. Creating sense of brotherhood and sisterhood among veterinary students and the staffs of veterinary institute to solve any problems encountered by veterinary students.
12. Satisfaction of veterinary students with good academics and opportunities for experience exchange and communication among themselves and other students in the country.
13. Improving respect for the profession of veterinary students as they are influential providers and integral members of the health care system within the animal environment and the public.
14. Raise on-campus and off-campus communities’ awareness on animal conservations and safety.
